The 16th of March is the feast day of Saint Abban.
Saint Abban was an abbot and Irish missionary, as well as an Irish prince, the son of King Cormac of Leinster. He is also the nephew of Saint Ibar. Saint Abban founded several churches in the old district of Ui Cennselaigh, where County Wexford and Ferns are now. The monastery in Magheranoidhe, in Adamstown, Ireland is his main monastery. He served as abbot till March 16 620 in Kill-Abban Abbey in Leinster.
